Kiera Knightley of course.

I hate how Katie Holmes talks out of the side of her mouth.   :x

I think Passions is so popular because the show doesn't take itself seriously.  This way the writers can make things as wacky as they want and put as many strange characters in the show as is humanly possible, and the viewer knows not to judge - the crazier the better.

And you can't expect Emmy-worthy performances from a show that strives to be bizarre.

I agree with Brian.  Very suspenseful.  Wonderful mix of drama and comic moments.  I enjoyed it thoroughly.

That hair on Tom is awful.

No no no.  It was way sexy.   :heart:   And I don't even like Tom Cruise like that.  It was Vincent who was delicious.

Men's Synchronized Diving is on TV right now.

Is anybody else out there noticing the perfect bodies of these divers more than the actual diving?

yum

Ooh, I take that back.  Much drama in the pool today.

You know I haven't seen any of the heart wrenching tear jerking olympic stories yet which makes the olympics so wonderful, and makes them a celebration of humanity!!!

I agree, Zena!  Where are the great stories?  I swear Australia was chock full of 'em.

Remember that guy from the African nation who volunteered to compete in a swimming event for his country's Olympic team and learned to swim only 9 months prior to the games in a pond of some kind near his home?  The man did not dive into the water gracefully, and had no kind of recognizable stroke.  He took twice as long to finish as all of the swimmers from the other countries.  As he struggled to finish his laps, the mostly Australian audience at the swimming center got on their feet and cheered him on like he was about to win the gold medal!

::wipes tear from eye::

This athlete's story was brought up again during the American coverage of the Opening Ceremonies.  Bob Costas commented that the swimmer might not be competeing this year in Athens because he was having trouble getting to Greece due to his lost passport photo.  Hearing the man's story again made me teary eyed, and then hearing that he probably wasn't even going to get to swim again made me even more upset.   :cry:

we are getting whooped in basketball!  :evil:

Yes!!!! Ahahahahaha.  That's so not right that the USA sends N-frickin'-BA players to the Olympics.

I'm thrilled the US Men's Basketball team lost.  Hah!  They need a reality check.  They're always so damn cocky.   :twisted:  :twisted:  :twisted:

Remember when they lost that pre-olympic match about a week ago, too?

Ahahahahahahahaha.

Moderators, I swear I looked in the other folders where I imagine something like the Olympics should be mentioned.

Anyway, am I the only one out here who loves it when the Olympics come around?  I always make sure I'm home to watch the opening and closing ceremonies.  I love the pageantry and symbolism of the games.  I love watching the lighting of the caldron.  And I love learning of the existence of teeny, tiny nations in the world because they’ve sent an athlete to the Olympics (i.e. Vanuatu, Nauru, Kiribati, Seychelles, Lesotho, Sao Tome and Principe, Dominica - which is not to be confused with the Dominican Republic)

 ::olympic::

yay, I got to use the olympic smilies  :bday:

and yay for countries that are new to me!

But think back to those wonderful times at the beginning of the 20th century, when Britain ruled most of the world under its brutal, imperialistic, tea-drinking thumb.
