Completely Off-Topic / BUSH IN BRITAIN
« on: November 22, 2003, 05:55:23 am »
Amazing that you people blame Bush for this... HE didin't do a damn thing...  you lost £5 million of tax payers money because of PROTESTERS.  Bush's visit could have been completely uneventful.  You two have a seriously skewed view of this entire thing...

Completely Off-Topic / An EXCELLENT personality quiz.
« on: November 20, 2003, 02:35:48 pm »
I am a tie between 1 & 6:

The Reformer
The principled, idealistic type. Ones are conscientious and ethical, with a strong sense of right and wrong. They are teachers, crusaders, and advocates for change: always striving to improve things, but afraid of making a mistake. Well-organized, orderly, and fastidious, they try to maintain high standards, but can slip into being critical and perfectionistic. They typically have problems with resentment and impatience. At their Best: wise, discerning, realistic, and noble. Can be morally heroic..

The Loyalist
The committed, security-oriented type. Sixes are reliable, hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy. Excellent "troubleshooters," they foresee problems and foster cooperation, but can also become defensive, evasive, and anxious—running on stress while complaining about it. They can be cautious and indecisive, but also reactive, defiant and rebellious. They typically have problems with self-doubt and suspicion. At their Best: internally stable and self-reliant, courageously championing themselves and others.

AND... (probably my favorite part)

I scored big huge ZEROS for

"The Helper" & "The Peacemaker"

Big surprise there...lol

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Some Random Stuff...
« on: November 16, 2003, 07:31:46 pm »

from www.musicunited.org Vanessa Carlton, Singer/Songwriter, "A Thousand Miles" and Gold-Award Winning Artist for "Be Not Nobody": "I think it’s great that there are even more avenues today to expose music and new artists. And I’m all for getting a taste of something before you buy it, but when it becomes more than a taste and people begin hoarding the entire work, it becomes piracy which results in a system in which artists are not being rewarded for their works. Works which they put everything they have into creating and then working their asses off to support and promote."

Polls / Would You Pay Twenty Dollars...
« on: October 18, 2003, 03:36:56 am »
The poll said I wasn't allowed to say "It depends on who it is"  so overall in general there's not very many people i go out and buy their CDs.  Hell I don't even download MP3s anymore.  Radio works alright for me.  But for specific folks I'd be waing the cash around...

Polls / Would You Pay Twenty Dollars...
« on: October 17, 2003, 08:36:45 am »
If that was how it was set up and the ONLY people that got to meet the performer(s) were the ones that bought the CD.  I would think that's pretty lame.  Would I take advantage of it?  Definitely not if I had the CD already...  I voted no to the poll.  You're friend was right on to say that the band was making people pay to meet them.  Doesn't seem right...

Completely Off-Topic / wireless... help?
« on: October 16, 2003, 08:05:50 pm »
"belkin" *shudder* ;)

I personally have yet to make the wireless jump.  my home office is where i do all my work and is run off of one mian Lynksys VPN router, a second old regular Lynksys router, an 8 port netgear hub, and a couple other various devices.  But whenever I get hired to setup WLAN for clients I suggest lynksys for price and ease of configuration and have never had a probelme with any of the systems I've set up, now with any of my own equip.  I really like the versatility of all their equipment and have found it to be really very reliable...

i actually like it here better, more maturity

And see... with how Pete felt in the beginning.. that is REALLY saying somthing ;)

Oh and by the way.. I woudl like to point out that the comments made by BV in the "thread" are from April and yesterday was just a "bump" of the topic (if you all remember having to do that crap) :)  I didn't see anythign controvercial added at all after that... so if this all sprung up from months old comments in a months old thread that got a bump... woah... there's even deeper issues to explore...

wow...well at least we know Vanessa's popular. $75...US!!! for a frickin cassette.

Actually if I had to guess it was probably some very stupid bidding by people who know nothing about ebay in the very beginning that got it up that high...  sigh... though I seriously question it's worth at this point.. I'm in for some green T... at least a pretty new Jackson...
