You guys are all evil!  I think those of you that voted for wonks are just trying to suck up!  :-P

Why would that be the case? I hardly even post anymore.  I'm surprised people still know who I am! :-P  Haha.

There are others that are much better, i just thought it would be neat to identify the winner.. gives someone something to strive for each holiday.  If everyone submits one, and all are used... i think it is less special.

I also think nh.com staff should be removed from this competition

I feel like everyone hates me cuz of this.  It's just an opinion.  I'll keep my mouth shut now.  Everyone take note, cuz that's probably never gonna happen again.

Here are my thoughts:

I don't know Wonkies, never really talked to him.  But he already does all the images and stuff for the site.  If that gets put up there, it just ruins the whole idea to me.  I think it should be for members of the site, etc. etc.  But what do I know?

My idea - any submission that meets the basic requirements (right size, says "Nessaholics.com Forums", etc.) should be accepted - then during the week of the holiday an image is selected at random as each page is loaded - that way everyone's work gets noticed, everyone contributes to the decorating, and it's less of a competition.  It would only take a couple lines of code...

I thought the exact same thing but I was asked to create one anyway.  Mine can be withdrawn for all I care.  I also thought that Shelly's (sayyouwould) would be in the lead anyway because it's so funny.  That's the one I voted for.

Let me clarify that it's not a hate attack on you or anything.  It's just a thought.  *shrug*

No problem. I didn't take it as such. I completely agree with what you said. I was not going to submit one for that very reason, but then I was asked to. I decided to just because I didn't think people would vote for mine because it's just an altered version of the regular one and because of the originality of the other entries. I guess I should not have made one after all. *shrugs* We do still have another day and mine isn't that far ahead of some of the other's though, but it can be withdrawn if necessary.  Heck, I'll forfeit my entry if that's what people want.

Completely Off-Topic / R.I.P. Composer/Conductor/Arranger Michael Kamen

Composer Michael Kamen died Tuesday morning at the age of 55 of a heart attack apparently due to complications from multiple sclerosis (Article), (His web site).  He composed and conducted the orchestrations for such artists as Metallica (He did that live S & M CD with them), Queensryche, David Bowie, and also created the scores for films such as Lethal Weapon, X-Men, and Band of Brothers, just to name a few.  

Sad day.  I first heard of Michael Kamen many years ago when he worked with Queensryche and since then, for some reason, I could usually tell when something was a Michael Kamen orchestration.  Maybe something in the phrasing, the instrumentation?  I don't know, but I've always enjoyed his work.

Yeah I tried the song too. It isn't bad, but I will have to listen to it more to see if it strikes me.

You don't have to listen more for my sake.  My second request for people to listen to it was just because only Vulture had replied and I thought everyone was just ignoring me because I don't really post anymore.  Haha.  That's understandable and I don't expect anyone to reply, but I just thought people weren't giving it a chance.  Thanks for trying it though, Bling. :-D

Same here... I love the song.... but I do dig similar styles like Dido & Sarah McL, so it wasnt to much of a stretch.

Yeah that' s probably what it is.  I like some of Dido's stuff and I love Sarah McLachlan's stuff so maybe that's what catches my ear.  I think the band is great too and what they do with the music really makes the song.  The drummer is pretty incredible.

Yeah it is Didoish haha. I was also watching "Law & Order:SVU at the time. But if you recall I did't like Ev at first either so yeah...

No prob, Let.  As I said above in my response to Brian, I thought that people were just plain ignoring my post and weren't giving the song a try.    Now I know better, if people aren't replying then it doesn't necessarily mean they didn't try it, it probably just means that they didn't like it.  Or, like me, maybe they just didn't feel like posting?  Who knows?  Haha.  Thanks again! :-D

Yay!  Thanks for trying it out, Let!  :-D  I don't know why I love that song so much, I just do.

Btw, just my opinion, if you thought "Duvet" was just "okay" you might not really like the rest of the stuff.  "Duvet" is probably their best song.  At least from what I've heard.

Interesting Boa fact:  The lead singer, Jasmine, and the guitarist, Steve, are sister and brother, and the children of Paul Rodgers, legendary lead singer/frontman of bands such as "Free," "Bad Company," and "The Firm."

Ummmmmm...  I'm assuming that you're talking about me?     Hehe.  I thought about making one but it might just be a play on the regular one, like I did with the Halloween one, so it probably wouldn't be as cool and original as the ones submitted so far.  I'll see if I an come up with something though.

I've had the Boa - Duvet mp3 since March 2002.
I love that song! I've always wanted to find more songs from them but hadnt found any.
But just grabbed the other 2 from the website! Sweet! Thanks Joe!
