General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Heroes & Thieves Album Information Thread

In an attempt to keep things streamlined and accessible instead of having 312346 threads about the Heroes & Thieves album every time a new article, V commentary, TV sighting, etc. comes about, we will have all of that information here. 
If you find an article about the album, post the link here. Find a track listing, post it here. Anything else, post it here. I will do my best to keep this top post updated with new stuff for easy access. Feel free to make individual threads for songs, etc., but I'd just like to keep general album information here.

So Katia has me hooked on this show now.
The two main characters are Bryan Greenberg (One Tree Hill), Laura Prepon (That '70s Show). It follows the return of Nick Garrett (Greenberg) to his hometown of Knights Ridge, Massachusetts after leaving 10 years previously. In the time he left and had not returned, Nick became a famous writer and wrote a pretty negative fiction book about Knights Ridge and his friends there, including Hannah (Prepon), who was his girlfriend when he left. The fun plot twist is that Hannah now has a son, who is 10, and has a peanut allergy, just like Nick. ... I won't give away the entire plot, if you want the whole plot, read the Wiki! :p
It only got a 6 show season (which was extended from the initial 4 they were going to give it), and it comes on after Grey's on ABC Thursdays, so it has a pretty good lead in. This week is the season finale. I hope they pick it up for next season.

IT'S BACK! This was fairly successful the last time we did it, so I figured we'd do it again!

Here's the deal...
There will be 4 brackets of 16 bands/artists each...64 in all. This will basically be run like the NCAA Tournament, except I don't care about RPI, stregnth of schedule, or any other random statistic, and YOU get to decide who wins :wink:.
The bands in the tournament were seperated into a top 32 (1-8 seeds) and bottom 32 (9-16 seeds). The top 32 bands/artists were ranked by number of posts in threads, popularity, and randomness. The bottom 32 were chosen by overall thread popularity, notoriety, and general relation to the board. Seeding for 9-16's were assigned by a random drawing.
For the first round you will vote on two brackets this week (All Is Well Bracket & Best Behavior Bracket) and two next week (Heroes & Thieves, Hands On Me Bracket). Each voting session will last one week begining on Sunday at 12:00am and ending the following Saturday at 11:59pm (central time, since I'm running this :razz:). This will continue each week until we get all the way down to the final two (Survivor from the AIW/BB Bracket side against Winner from the H&T/HOM Bracket side) and crown a NESSAholics.com Forums Champion.
Your job is to vote in this thread for each artist battle. This is your chance to decide which band/artist is second banana to Vanessa Carlton on this board, so choose wisely. :wink:
There are only six rules:
1. You must have at least 100 posts to vote. This will keep out the ringers. Last time we had a few too many ringers, so we just want to make sure the vote is valid in that people who actually post here regularly get to choose the winner.
2. In the event of a tie, there will be an online dice roll to specify a winner.
2a. In the event of a tie in the finals, the round will be extended in 24 hour intervals until the tie is broken and a winner can be declared. If that process goes on too long, we reserve the right to change this rule and make a better one. We will burn that bridge when we get there.
3. You can change your vote at any time before voting closes, but not after voting closes.
4. If you would like to pass on a battle because you are torn or don't know who to pick, just say PASS. It's ok.
5. Have fun, damnit!
... oh, and yes, I do realize I screwed up the organization on the brackets. It doesn't matter. The seedings were random and arbitrary anyway, so it isn't a big deal. Plus we already started.

They grow 'em young in country music.
16 year old Taylor Swift from Wyomissing, PA caught my ear tonight when I was listening to the radio. Her debut single, "Tim McGraw" (gotta make that guy feel old, people are making songs about his music, lol) is pretty good. I liked it. I like the other song she has on MySpace, too.
At 15 years old Taylor became the youngest recruit to Big Machine Records, a joint venture between former Dreamworks executive Scott Borchetta and country superstar Toby Keith.

Formerly Blue Background, Heart of a Failure is the same band lineup (Sarah, Maggie, Chris, and Carlyle) but with a new style. Their new EP, A Final Flight, was recorded with producer Gavin McKillop (Sugarcult, MXPX) and is a blend of rock and punk if that gives you any idea of the direction they've moved. It fits more what is popular now, so I am sure someone out there has to like it! :wink: :twisted:

I heard her song "Waiting For My Star To Fall" on Pandora and liked it. I checked out the website, and while her CD is from 2005 and is a Canadian Import, it is pretty good. I figured some of you might like her stuff, it's pop but it is solid. If the name sounds familiar, I guess she had a CD back in 2000 that was Country which was fairly big in Canada and the US.
