Completely Off-Topic / Sacramento's Next Top Model
« on: March 02, 2004, 10:13:26 pm »
No, it's not a TV show...

Would you all do me a big favor?

One of my former roommates is up for this thing called "Sacramento's Next Top Model".  If you'd all vote for her, just once, it'd mean a lot to me.  As much as I complained about those girls, I really did care about all of them.

Here's the link http://www.upn31.com/castingcall/.  Her name is Gaby Kovats.

Thanks guys!

Cops Caught Issuing Tickets As a Contest

PORTERDALE, Ga. - A contest between two police officers in a small Georgia town to see which one could issue the most traffic tickets was stopped by a judge who overheard the apparent winner talking about it, the mayor said.

Part-time Porterdale police officers Erin Cox and Frank Jackson wrote about 150 tickets in January, which was significantly higher than in previous months, Mayor Paul Oeland said.

Some tickets were for minor offenses including not reporting an address change to the state or having defective equipment on a vehicle, it was first reported in The Covington News.

The contest was revealed when City Court Judge C. David Strickland overheard the officers talking about it recently. Oeland said "Jackson indicated he had won the contest."

"I think it was sort of bragging rights," said Oeland, a lawyer. "They would make a traffic stop for a legitimate reason and then try to find anything else they could possibly write a ticket for."

The mayor added: "It is not anything that we as a city support."

Both officers were asked to resign by Friday by City Manager Tom Fox, Oeland said. They have been with the department less than a year, he said.

Neither could be reached Friday. There was no answer at the police department.

I think the cops here do that too

For having animals in ATM.  That's all they said about her.  HAHA

They didn't say her video was bad, just that she had animals.

LOL...a party she was at got crashed by the cops.

Party poopers

The LAPD damped down one of Oscar week's toniest parties Monday when Hollywood Hills neighbors complained about the noise.

The Diamond is Forever bash was at a luxe bivouac rented by the British proprietors of Soho House (the private club with branches in London and New York). Among those dressing up the place were Best Actress nominee Keisha Castle-Hughes, Sharon Stone, Carmen Electra, Amber Valetta, Kim Catrall, Nicole Richie, Vanessa Carlton, Marcia Gay Harden and Rosario Dawson.

Nobody knows who called the cops, though neighbors do include Ice-T, Stephen Dorff and DreamWorks honcho Michael De Luca.

Another local, Mark McGrath, performed at the party in the Camp Freddy band with Donovan Leitch, Juliette Lewis, Dave Navarro and Macy Gray - who stole the show with her rendition of the Pretenders' hit "Brass in Pocket."

"The music stopped right after the police showed up at midnight," says our snitch.

There are some nice extras included in the game. It has commentary with singer Vanessa Carlton as well as the video of the song that she wrote with the game in mind, a very nice plus indeed.

It's not about her or anything, I just thought it was funny that she was in there.

General Vanessa Carlton Discussion / Rinse - nice track

Even Vanessa Carlton’s ballad, Rinse, appeals. It opens up with her yearning and pining to the sounds of haunting piano before breaking into a full-band sound. Nice track.

article...very interesting.

The artist with the longest run near the top of the AC chart is Vanessa Carlton. "A Thousand Miles" still holds a respectable #14, and has been playing for 68 weeks. That's long enough to put out a second album and have tunes from the new CD compete with material from the debut -- although we're still waiting for Carlton's second CD.

An enthusiastic hip-hop crowd stood for over three hours enduring heartfelt, but out-of-place, performances by Vanessa Carlton and Howie Day, waiting for the Aaliyah tribute featuring Missy Elliott.

He showed up first, did a few interviews and hung out in the green room with Moby and additional performers Vanessa Carlton and Kevin Bacon.

I need your help.  I'm on a mission to collect as many Michelle Branch shows as possible.  If you have any shows you'd be willing to send me via B&P or you'd be willing to trade directly with some of the show holders, let me know via PM.  Grazi mucho.
