Vanessa Carlton is about halfway done with her as-yet-untitled second album. "This album is hugely personal and (not surprisingly) gothic," Carlton wrote on her Web site, adding, "a friend of mine is doing a film/documentary about the making of this album."

And yeah, it's for the American Cancer Society.  Cancer sucks big time, so I think it's neat Vanessa is involved with something trying to raise money for a cure.  Bid on!

That's the stream.  I'm on a dialup so the stream doesn't work for me.  If you could convert it for me, I'd bow down to your greatness for like the next week and a half. :D

Thanks in advance!

Members of Third Eye Blind and Guns N' Roses are helping Kimya Dawson, one half of quirky anti-folk duo the Moldy Peaches, record her follow-up to last year's I'm Sorry That Sometimes I'm Mean. 3EB's Arion Salazar plays bass on the effort, while GN'R drummer Brian "Brain" Mantia, also of Primus fame, sits behind the kit. 3EB singer Stephan Jenkins and his girlfriend Vanessa Carlton contribute backing vocals to the album, which is due in January.

From a South African article

Bonolo Thekiso from Botswana sang Pretty Baby by Vanessa Carlton. Not an easy song to do, and she did struggle a bit with it. But she did manage to pull it off in the end.

Dave thought she was very average and inconsistent, and shuddered about what Randall was going to say. Surprisingly, Randall censored himself and told her that the song's simplicity was it's beauty and the singer brings warmth to the song, which she didn't do. Gareth thought she looked beautiful on stage, but her performance left him wanting. Mara was very disappointed with the performance and felt it was too subtle.

Did you see the young woman named Vanessa Carlton lip-sync "The Star - Spangled Banner" before the Major League All Star game Tuesday night?

Am I the only one who thought her mall rat's outfit of tight jeans and clingy, strapless top inappropriate for a patriotic anthem telecast across the world?
