I know its wikipedia but still... Jennifer Lopez is big! I just hope she does not over shadow Vanessa's time while Heroes and Thieves comes out!

Well since Lopez is more famous then Vanessa, everyone will probably d/l her album when it's leaked in September. So still Vanessa has a chance, since not many people know about her, and wouldn't d/l her album... I think.

I think they are going to be purchased by different people. I would never get a lopez album...ever- Lopez has a bigger fan base, I would assume. I don't think that she will affect Vanessa that much. People that will buy Vanessa's album are going to buy it... (also the Jlo cd is not that good from what I have heard of late)

I wouldn't worry about it. In case any of you haven't noticed, Jennifer Lopez is washed up. She's not as big as she was a few years back......people aren't gonna wanna listen to her same music....her last cd was failure.

Wrong. Heroes & Thieves will inevitably compete with J Lo's record if only for sales figures in the first week.

Having an album debut at number one for the weekly spot is better than debuting at number 4 or 5 and helps generate hype.

And you generally want to have the artist you support perform better than the competition.

And if anyone says that this has nothing to do with competing, or sales figures, or making money can politely shut the hell up. This is what this comeback record and the music industry itself is all about.

Was not trying to say anything bad just saying. I think Vanessa can pull her thing I mean Jlo has not really been all that big anyways latley so who knows. Either way I am still going to just be like by V's new album! <--- to random people..well not random..anywho rambling..

I love Vanessa, but i dont think she can conquer the charts, top 10 would be where i see Nessa, if anything. J-Lo will probably enter the Top 10 [for a short time]. But J-Lo has many old fans, where as loads of people barely know Vanessa, so she has oppurnity to build her fanbase.

With J-Lo they decided if they like her or not by the 1st album, Vanessa has only had 1 hit, and no one knows her at my school. So maybe Vanessa could have a good chance, with more fans coming on.

Vanessa is out of the mainstream... tho with irv gotti now she maybe ooked upon as an alterantive artist with the backing of someone mainstreamish...

But yeah i guess the competition would be only with regards to the record sales and stuff... their genres of music are totally different and i dont see Vanessa cursing Jennifer if the sales arent that good or something...
