Anyone go and see it? I thougt it was pretty awesome! I never really liked musicals and always fell asleep through them but this one was just amazing.

i saw it last week - it was good
the play was better
and i actually think i liked the original better - even though i love musicals
but it was good

I don't get why they remade it the original was a classic and wasn't that long ago

You tell em Steve!  I'm sure that I will go see the movie or see it somehow... but it just can't ever pretend to try to beat the original!  There is no replacing DIVINE!

Ricki Lake was good too. John Waters makes some funny movies. This recent trend of remaking anything over 15 years old is stupid. Are the kids too lazy to rent the original?

I agree:I uphold the belief that if you're going to watch a remake,you should watch the original first.

I liked the remake of Hairspray, though I was disappointed with some of the actors.On the other hand some fo the cast blew me away with their performances.....
