9-11 We Remember God Bless the USA
« on: September 10, 2007, 09:16:26 pm »
In some parts of the USA it is already 9-11 it is such a sad day a day we will never forget a day the USA will always hold dear. I felt it only appropriate to post a thread for all of us to discuss September 11th.. Where were you when this happened? How did it change your life?

A song that is very near and dear to me is Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" everyword of that song is so strong and meaningful

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

This is such a powerful and sad day it just overpowers me. I always remember how fragile life is and how we need to make everyday count.

Let's all take a moment remember this day will will affect us forever..

Let's Roll!!!!GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!

~Your words circle in my head
And weigh so heavy on my chest
And I'm crushed by your expectation~

I remember 9/11. We were at school and we werent allowed to go outside.

And everything was so scary. When I was watching what happened on the TV I really couldn't believe what was happening :(

And as I sit here in this dark room
All I seem to feel is light...

I was in 4th grade so I was like clueless on what the twin towers were so after lunch they did not let us leave for recess and the staff/administrators where telling us about it and I did not really get the full like deal and I got home and my mom calls and shes like did you watch the news? and all I thought was they are just 2 buildings...why do they have to get their own story on every news channel??!

it really was not until a year after that I fully understood everything and how bad it was.

Current takes me out, what will be, will be. Floating on the sea, stars are watching me.

I was in 5th grade.
Our teachers kept talking about some huge attack in the U.S.
Our English teacher turned on the tv and we were hearing all the hurried information about the first plane having hit the WTC.
My sort-of friend said "OH MY GOD, I'm going to pray!"
So, she dropped down on her knees and starting praying.
Moments later, the second plane hit, and some smartass dick said "Way to go Lily, look what your praying did".

I also remember that the kindergarteners were scared that the school was being bombed and I heard they hid under their desks.
There were also rumors about a power plant that's less than ten miles away from that school having been attacked.

It was scary and so confusing.  I'll never forget it.
sig & av by natalie, thank you!
