I've noticed that a lot of younger readers tend to really take to this book (A Child Called It), and as a result there's been a lot of hype created that surrounds it. I think it's poorly written, the author isn't a very good writer at all. There's a lot of simplistic melodramatic language throughout the entire book, and a lot of impossible scenarios that brings the validity of his work into judgement. I remember some parts being imbellished to the point of rediculousness, but I can't recall them off the top of my head.
I skimmed through most of it. Lot's of hype, not much substance, if people are interested in books about child abuse there are better ones.
