I am new here.

I just really discoverd Vanessa.  I had her cd's, and enjoyed them.  I went to her concert here in Seattle, and for some reason that hooked me soooooo much.  

Anyway, I went and downloaded her demo tape.
I love Little Mary.  I know it was in her begining days, but I really like it.  I can relate to the lyrics A LoT, so maybe that is why.  But I keep listening to it over and over.

I think she should come out with a cd of her demo tape, it's awesome.

As I understand it, the famous Vanessa Carlton demo tape everyone knows about is one of about five tapes of songs that Vanessa wrote and recorded herself and made copies of to distribute to contacts in the music industry, &c.  She submitted a copy of each of the tapes to the Library of Congress for copyrights.  An original copy of one of her tapes turned up for sale on eBay one day, and several Nessaholics members pitched in to win it.  I'm not sure who has the actual tape, but everyone who pitched in got first dibs on a copy of the songs on it, and they have spread from there.  As far as I know, none of the other about four tapes has surfaced, though.

I, too, like Little Mary and would really love to hear Vanessa re-record it along with the other demo songs. I've always really liked 'Faces,' too.

And 'All I Ask' is one of my all-time favorite Vanessa songs.
