You Don't Have To Be A Bride
« on: June 30, 2010, 03:05:50 am »
While making a sheet music for the song "I Don't Want To Be A Bride," I just realized that the song can't be sung by a guy due to the references in the song. So, I decided to make a cover of the song customized for guys. Here it is:

You Don't Have To Be A Bride

I like your company, never need another thing
And never knew such a beautiful face.
We could go on a cheap vacation, it doesn't matter where's our destination
Cause you could be the end of me.
And we don't need a house on a hill, a swing on a tree,
A grandfather clock, a porcelain for tea.
A garden with rose and jasmine.
Together, we can sit under the stars, no better way to pass the time -
Forever by your side.

You don't have to be a bride. Apologies to your father,
But you could be the girl to share this life with.
And you don't have to wear white, you know it's kinda late for that.
But can't we keep the ever after, or could it be.

Don't need no golden ring.
It'd be no match for the love we bring,
From London to Tennessee.
We could catch a train to another life
On a wing under the moonlight,
I promise you. And will you promise me?

Our last names on a wooden sign,
Arm in arm where the river starts to wind.
Forever by your side.

And you don't have to be a bride. Apologies to each other,
But you could be the girl to share this life with.
And you don't have to wear white, you know it's kinda late for that.
But can't we keep the ever after? Or could it be just you and me?

Ah, ah, ah

We will live like kings under lavender skies, skies
We will live like kings under lavender skies, skies.
We will build a poem we kept a rhyme, wrap our love in golden twine
We wrote, we wrote a legacy. Just you and me.
Just like kings under lavender skies, skies.
We will live.

LOL. I don't mean to plagiarize or anything.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

How apropos :D
Once I listened to "I Don't Want to be a Bride," I had to make a reply to V from a male perspective - as in, "Hey, I don't blame you! I totally agree."

I like your company. I’ve gotta new philosophy
Never knew such a kind lady
You could take me on a cheap vacation. I really don’t have expectations
Because you could be the end of me
And I don’t need a house on a hill, an HDTV, a three story house, my own Ferrari
A villa on the cliffs by the sea
I wanna get drunk on a bottle of wine – no better way to pass the time, forever by your side

I don’t wanna have a wife; apologies to your father
But I could be your man and share this life with you
And I don’t wanna see you in white, ‘cause, you know, it’s too late for that
Can’t we keep our ever after, or could it be…

I don’t need a wedding ring. How could it match the love you bring?
When you’re in LA and I’m in New Jersey
Spend our time in the Asian light, Busy streets and countrysides,
I’ll promise you if you promise me
Relaxing in the hot springs, outdoors where nature brings us together
And for me (so... this whole stanza was to fit me... but whatever fits, I guess?)

I don’t wanna have a wife; apologies to my mother,
But I could be your man and share the life with you,
And I don’t wanna name child, and must we get married?
To accept our love, or could it be… Just you and me

Ah~ Ah~

We will live our dreams under lavender skies, skies (x2)
We will reminisce our childhood, sharing memories and nostalgic food,
We’ll build our legacy – just you and me,
And we’ll live our dreams under lavender skies, skies
But sorry ‘cause

I don’t wanna have a wife; Sorry if you wanted husband,
But I could be your man and still be with you
I don’t wanna have that life. I don’t feel ready yet.
Can’t we still see each other? Or could it be…
"The road is ahead of us, so let's start out today...The people and the friends that we have lost, or the dreams that have faded... Never forget them."

I think they're cute. (: I like the first one better, but I do like the part in the second one about the HDTV. lol
The song may be over, but the music never ends.

I prefer the first one, too, even if I wrote the second one.  :P Just changing the female aspects and turning them into a male perspective and maintaining the rest of the lyrics, still maintained the "Nessa" feel.  Although, I do prefer my more realistic view in my part. I'm not sure of a modern-day man that would really want porcelain for tea (and reject his need for porcelain to fall in love; nonetheless, just the porcelain part). Other than the first verse, the rest would fit though. :D

My whole stance on it was personal (very, most likely), rather than a generalized male view.

Hey, thanks. :D

Personally, I made it a point to make as little changes as possible to maintain the V-vibe of the song. But when I read the second one, I thought it was pretty cool too, especially the HDTV part. It made the song more manly. :)

Aha, thank you.  :) I was aiming for something a little more manly, but not totally callous. I still wanted the sentimental feel to it.
