So, I did my best to decode the lyrics of River from the show last night. If anyone has any corrections feel free to check my work. My videos are uploading to my YouTube account right now!!

I really like the lyrics to this song.  I get the feeling it's about loving someone who is always on the road (musician? hehe) they are always moving around, no city or town every "keeps him" because he's a traveling person (gypsy).  she talks about changing for the other person, rather than the travler changing for her.  Just like a river, we cannot tame it, we have to go around it or some how navigate over it, figuring out a way to deal with it in our life. 
I know she said this album was not "biographical" but i can see this being about her and John, except she is the gypsy, the untraditional person who did not want to get married, and John was the one changing his ways to fit in to her life.
