I whois off so many diff rwhois servers depending on the sitution i just type it out.

Use GNU jwhois. Automagically looks up the right server and uses that. It's a feature I think should have been added to the FreeBSD version long ago. Maybe they updated it in 5.x, but I haven't used 5.x yet. 4.x runs perfect for me right now.....

I know, i need to up to 5, but blah.  production servers make things like that more difficult.  Plus i'm a bitch about my uptime so i hate rebooting

i think BSD 4.x has a pretty advanced whois lookup already, i'll have to fuss on my friends 5.x box and see the diff
