So, uh, yeah, this is the latest song I've written. I wrote it after listening to a conversation in, of all places, my anatomy class. This guy was talking like "I don't know why they're arguing...they're soulmates, they'll get married." So, yeah, this is my thoughts. Kinda cheesy, but....
Well, I hear all the talk of soulmates
And I can't help but think "Maybe I'm a little behind"
But who's business is it, finding soulmates
When we've still got our whole lives ahead?
I'm still young and I will not be held down by thoughts of tomorrow
When I've still got today
I'm still young
And my soulmate will come whenever fate sees fit
We're still in school with so much ahead
Nothing but change is guaranteed from here
So when I hear you talk of soulmates
I wonder if you realize how many more people we have to meet
And how much living we have to do
True, they love each other today
But next week, who knows?
I'm still young and I will not be held down by thoughts of tomorrow
When I've still got today
I don't know everything
But I know teenagers are irrational
And fall in and out of love with the wind
Soulmates? Maybe, but I wouldn't worry about it....
I'm still young and I will not be held down by thoughts of tomorrow
When I've still got today
I'm still young and my soulmate will come
Whenever fate sees fit
