I was reading through an MMM mag and I cam across this little part on Nessa.  I think it's from an issue early this year.  Anyway here's the whole thing:

This just in: Vanessa Carlton is hard at work in the studio on the follow-up to her Grammy-nominated first CD.  "I'm singing songs about suicide, insomnia and paranoia," says Vanessa about the disc, due out in the fall and produced by her boyfriend Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind.  "It's goth," she says, half-kidding.  "But it's kind of tongue-in-cheek."

"It's about your emotions being so raw in the morning," says Vanessa of the track "Morning Sting" from her upcoming CD.

I'm not sure why they would hype Stephan either; the last 3eb album didn't do too well.

yeah, the last album didn't, but 3eb has been really successful in the past, and stephan is kind of known for his attitude and his poetic abilities... plus he's a really good producer and has done all his band's production as well as plenty for other people.
