In support of her second album, Harmonium, which is slated for release November 9, Vanessa Carlton will begin her North American tour October 21.

With full orchestra in tow, Carlton will hit major U.S. cities including Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Boston and Philadelphia - plus Canadian stops in Toronto and Montreal - in October, then begins heading west for November.

The charming young star hasn't been on the road since playing a few isolated gigs last year, but she's out to re-enchant her audience with new songs.

November dates will take Carlton to Virginia, New York, Georgia, Colorado, Arizona, California, Washington and Oregon.

I heard that rumor too. I actually thought that would have been killer. I love the personal shows as well. I just thought the reason of the small amount of tour dates was due to hauling all the orchestra instruments around or something.
