Here is an article about Vanessa in TeenPeople.com.
Tuned In: Vanessa CarltonBefore TEENPEOPLE.COM is introduced to Vanessa Carlton, the notoriously guarded singer's tour manager insists on grazing the questions we've prepared for our sit-down interview. All are OK-ed except the last, which is met with a frozen stare. “She won’t answer,” he says. “She’ll shut down.”
Here's where we learn that press inquiries about Vanessa's relationship with Third Eye Blind frontman Stephan Jenkins are strictly prohibited -- even a simple “How are you and Stephan doing?” is off limits.
Huh? Clearly Vanessa hasn't gotten the memo that celebrity relationships are now a matter of national importance. Doesn't she want to give us a tour of their crib, share photos from their romantic Bali vacation, or perhaps let us view the first year of their newlywed lives?
Nope.
Carlton's not your average famous person. She avoids the spotlight like the plague.
"I’m not so interested in being a celebrity," she says. Click on the video link below to find out why…

As far as she and Stephan go, we can safely assume that the two are solid -- they've survived touring with each other, as well as a startling age difference (she's 24; he's 40!). Jenkins even worked as a producer on his girl's sophomore album, Harmonium.
What fans will discover with the new set of tunes is how Vanessa has grown from a girl who wrote “diary lyrics” to a woman who can step outside herself, embrace flaws, and preserve creativity.
And while she may not be Paris Hilton, Carlton is controversial. Sure, others can’t download her most intimate moments, but the stinging truth about virginity loss led MTV to censor her new White Houses video. It’s old hat; MTV also censored visuals in her Pretty Baby clip.
“The reason why my lyrics were censored is because of Janet Jackson’s boob. Her left breast is preventing my words from being heard! It’s frustrating, but people will be curious.”
Like, how we're still sorta curious about her love life?
S' OK. We'll live. Besides, we got to hear Vanessa gush about something entirely more sexy: pomegranates. “I'm obsessed with eating them. It’s a big project, so it takes up a lot of time. They’re very messy, but there’s something about the seeds and the crunch. The sweet bitterness gets me every time.”
Ah, harmonium.
