They are awesome, and I love their new CD, "More Than You Think You Are."

You might know them from "Unwell" and "Disease" those are some of their latest hits!!

I went through a Matchbox phase back in 2000. *shrug* I still dig their stuff. "You Won't Be Mine" is my favorite track. It goes from a soft jazz piano tune to full orchastra... its beautiful!

You know, I classify MB20 in my top 10 list of all time dissapointments.  Their first album is/was one of the best albums ive ever heard.  I love every song dearly.  Every thing rob says in on that album I empathize with.  Its such a great sound, very pop rock.  I love it.

Since then, the next two have been very generic and overproduced.  His lyrics are getting redundant (How can I possibly feel sorry for a rock star with a supermodel girl friend singing about how he has no luck with women?).

I really expected big things from this band... and now they are just radio filler.

A couple of weeks ago, M-20 got a negative concert review from the New York Times, saying their performance was flat and uninspired.

However, in the recent show at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland, The Oregonian said the group was quite energetic and put on a good show.

Which do you believe?

I am one of the *hugest* mb20 fans out there - I'm proud to say that. :) Their 3 albums are very different, but the same "homeliness" is still there in the lyrics. I've been a fan since the beginning of mb20, really. It was early November of 96 that I first heard them.

I've been an avid fan ever since.

And Kevin, you may be out of your "phase," but mb20 will never be absent from your life for as long as you know me. Lucky you!

Yeah back in 1996 when they were playing in warehouses in Atlanta...I've heard tons of stories about those...My friend Chris went to Ga Tech, and got in on some of those old shows... :D

Yup yup, gotta love these guys. I have never really heard any of their earlier stuff because i never have the money to buy it, i wander into HMV and look at the CDs and decide i don't quite have the guts to spend 16 quid on a CD that may be a dissapointment.

Andrew, i know what you're getting at- i do feel that More Than You Think You Are, despite being a really good album is a little overproduced, not really raw enough. Its like what happened to Craig David, he was cutting edge garage and now he's releasing songs called 'World Filled With Love'. haha (i know loads of you hate craig david, but his earlier stuff was bloody AMAZING!)

Matchbox 20 are so good. my brother bought "Yourself or Someone Like You" and its amazing! im gonna buy their other CDs too, but i just need to find them cheap enough.

i hope they come to the UK sometime and tour, i'd really love to see them!

and... another bonus! most of their songs on YoSLU are really easy to play on guitar, just basic chords and stuff. Really cool when your learning like me :)

matchbox twenty are awesome :)

all my love, Jo x x x

They did back in September, they had postponed their Wembley date from around March or so because of the war.

I'm definantly a fan.  I have been for several years but I've never really said anything.  I didn't think it was really nessesary.

You want to know how my current self perception is and has been for some time, just listen to Unwell.  It's been my personal song for some time.  It is not so much the symptoms he is describing as just knowing your not running on full cylinders, in a disabling way.  For me kind of a result of analyzing how people think, in depth, solo.  It can get really close to home.  Dangerous shit.

wow, the band fired Adam the secondary guitarist!
http://www.billboard.com/bb/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000760009

Adam Gaynor, one of matchbox twenty's longtime guitarists, is no longer with the band. No reason was given for the split. "The band has decided not to renew his sevices," a source tells Billboard.com. The group is presently on hiatus as several members are tackling solo projects.

Chief among them is lead singer Rob Thomas's solo debut, "...Be Somebody," which is due in late April/early May via Atlantic. As first revealed here, the set sports a guest spot by John Mayer on guitar on an as-yet-unnamed track.
