I think MakeLoveToMe is a really hot song, and would do extremely well in the club scene and hip-hop crowd. The only reason why people in this community don't either like the song, or believe the song would perform well, is because everyone here is pretty biased and highly opinionated. Let's face it. lol
Why would the song not perform well in the market that it's geared for? That's right, none of us can give a reason as to why the song would not grow into becoming a hit. Some of us don't care for the song because we either don't care for the genre, the songs message, or the fact that we have this predisposed ideal of how Vanessa should sound and continue to sound in the music she puts out and is featured on. I mean, this obviously isn't another Big Yellow Taxi.
But that's the whole POINT of MakeLoveToMe, like it or not, it's something that she wouldn't normally do, and I believe it ultimately succeeds in what it's intended for. It's a pleasant curve ball.
And of course any publicity is good publicity, anyone who says otherwise knows nothing about celebrity. Controversy gets people talking and interested, just look at Paris Hilton right now, she's more infamous than ever. Ratings on the Simple Life have been through the roof.
