my music.........
« on: April 07, 2003, 09:34:06 am »
it's hard to put into words the work I do as a guitarist, since words can't create the sounds I try to achieve. But through it all I've had many different influences from all kinds of music, and the description I give to everyone about the music I normally play on my own is that if Michelle Branch is the day, I'm very much the night, with the darker sounds and sometimes spooky riffs..........which should come to be expected from someone who's two favorite artists are Metallica and Michelle Branch. Mainly now I'm an acoustic man, but for my guitar solos I have to turn to an electric.

I love playing guitar. Especially when it is tuned.

Try playing it in open D tuning, it changes all the chord shapes and it's really painful until you master it, but it can make it so much easier to play basic rythyms and sounds good too.............If you've ever heard of Richie Havens.......he was the opening act at Woodstock '69. He uses open D tuning and it sounds really good.
