She's performing on some show with some chick. I think it's one of those 'American Idol' type shows in another country.

Why is she not playing the music live, but she's singing it live? Aren't they allowed to have live bands on the show?

I have this vid: it's from 2002 when Vanessa came to the "Star Academy", which is kind of the French equivalent of Pop Stars.
I think the duet was pretty good actually.

Vanessa is pretty good in this, but that Nolwenn chick messed it up.... She needs a few lessons, it sounds like vanessa is singing to a backing track.... IDK

Yeah, it totally sounds like the instruments are just on stage for show. The only thing live about this performance is Vanessa and the other woman singing.
