Ordinary day...
« on: June 16, 2008, 09:26:14 am »
I was watching some videos of Ordinary Day, and I started thinking [I've actually thought this for a while] but doesn't the line "Like a shooting star" sound kinda country-ish? I am not a fan of country music, but I like the way Vanessa sounds when she sings that line.
EDIT: Wrong Link  :D

I've never really thought that because Vanessa's music is so far from country (although I love country music).  Sometimes if you train your mind to hear something a certain way thats exactly what you hear, or at least it's what I've discovered from my experience.

I didn't ever think of her as country either, i agree, she's far from it. But its weird just that one line.

The only song that sounds country is Unsung, at least to me.  But she seems pop, though soft rock keeps coming to mind for some odd reason.

I don't remember that part sounding country, though we all have different perspectives on things.

Nope.

The closest she's gotten to country are the fiddles on Heroes & Thieves.
It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.

Kind of.. Ive always thought that in "Faces" from her demo tape when she says "Give me earthguakes and heartakes and everything thats inbetween" it sounds really wierd. Its not on youtube anymore but if you have it one of the times she says it like that is around 2:28. I kind of like it after I listened to it a couple times.
