On the VC website, if you listen to Nolita Fairytale on the music player, it's a slightly different version of the song.
The piano is kind of different, and a part of the song the vocals are different.

Wow, good catch!  "take away my record deal" and "Nolita flat on rent control" are entirely different takes.  There's other, minor stuff that is different, little backing vocals and I think the marching percussion comes in earlier.

I wonder how the heck an alternate mix got on there?

I don't remember it being like that though, I had heard it before and it was the album version.

My theory-

Since NF came out as the first single and before all the album stuff was i guess "finalized" and stuff, they wanted to get the song out and playing, and used the original mix on the website rather than the one we know and love today.

We already have this version kids!
It leaked back then, sometime after we got the final version.
I don't remember who posted it though.

i have an older version of NF...my friend got it for me through some site...ill check if it's the same as the NF from H&T CD....But if i remember correctly the drums do start a bit earlier...so idk...let me check and if it's different (the one u r talking abt from her site) i will upload it and post a link

There's the radio edit, the version that we're talking about now and the album cut.

Can't remember if there was another edit, but don't think there was.

I've noticed that cause you wrote this topic! I didn't realize before!
I listened to the song on the site when I had not the CD. And now I always listen to H&T so, my ears forgot this version!

Yeah, because I had like..the first version that leaked around...last year this time-ish, but this one is different. I wonder why they did it though, because it use to have the actual album version on there.
