To answer the question simply (as no-one has seemed to do very succinctly):

"Carnival" is a demo song that Vanessa wrote and recorded that didn't make the cut on 'Be not Nobody'.  Look for it on my hard drive.

"Dark Carnival" is a reworking of that song with a somewhat more gory lyric for the video game 'Spy Hunter 2'.  Look for it this September.
