No More Rick Dees?
« on: February 10, 2004, 07:03:18 pm »
In the All Access "headlines" email I got today it said..

RICK DEES out, RYAN SEACREST in at KIIS/LOS ANGELES

Does that mean no more Rick Dees and The Weekly Top 40? Now Ryan Seacrest and The Weekly Top 40? God they'd have to change their phone number (1800-Rick-Dees)!

I listen to the top 40 for the first time in a couple monthes this past sunday, and I thought something weird was going on when Tim Allen was hosting..

Dick Clark is an American institution!

If Dick Clark stops doing the new years celebration then the terrorists win.

actually ryan took over for Casey Kasem's top 40 show and KIIS is running that show now. Rick got railroaded outta KIIS. I think it was a big mistake by KIIS.

Glad he's gone, I hope Ryan Seacrest does a better job.

I listen to big boy in the morning because I hate Rick Dees so much, he just got boring and people stop listening to his morning show.

big boy in the morning has a great show, like Howard Stern.

I think kiis did what they had to do. I've known a couple of the djs at kiis, and so I've been hearing of Rick Dees from around their for awhile. Even a year or 2 ago I heard things like "Wow, his ratings have really been going down!". And it's not hard to see why. His show got SO boring! He used to be an amazing DJ, but then recently he started using the same bits over and over again. Their was rarely anything new. He'd record something from the day before, and just play it over to take up time.
And then he wanted a raise! So they had to let him go...
I think Ryan Seacrest will be more interesting than Rick Dees. I listened to his show on Star a couple times, and it was good! He wouldnt be my favorite choice, but he's better than Rick Dees, I think.
And I used to love Rick Dees! He used to be a great DJ!
