The Mourning After
« on: January 02, 2005, 04:20:56 pm »
Blood pulses through my bed
And spreads the warmth of life
The stars seem to shimmer
Out the corner of my eye
My nerves are shot
My brain's on fire
With a spark so hot
I almost admire
My unbelievable luck

I tend to lose my balance
When evening comes along
Wondering if I'll find escape
To the one that I belong
The sun rises even faster
When it brings the morning after

I pretend the clock won't tick again
To stop impending light
From stealing away the wreckless dream
That enveloped us tonight
I know I'll watch the sun come up
Surrounded in the filth
Left over from your broken words
Not even tinged with guilt

I tend to lose my balance
When evening comes along
Wondering if I'll find escape
To the one that I belong
The sun rises even faster
When it brings the morning after

There's no glow to bask in
'Cause you get up in the dark
And you call upon my demons
When you rise up in the dark
And the spark of hope I had, it fades
Laying there alone to face the breaking day
Cotton cradles me in its downy arms
And tries its best to keep me warm
The sticky haze of yearning settles on my skin
Leaves my hands clammy and dirt seeps within
I know all your motives and can't seem to care
My bed remains empty and my soul melts bare
*natalie*

at least i can say
i was not afraid
i loved you all the way
i'd pick the fool any day.
