I wrote a piece called "Stop" a couple of years ago, but recently I was inspired to add to it.
Can you tell that part of it was written at a different time or does it blend well?
Which version do you guys prefer?

Stop

Pause for a moment.
What was in control
spins out of control
What was lost
has found its bitter end
What is sweet
Stops

Press rewind,
see life running backwards
but it's still going forwards
in reality
Watch the second hand
ticking in reverse, and it
Stops

Slow motion
Frame by frame
you pick out my mistakes
Moments blend with minutes
blurring in slow motion
Grains of sand rolling forward
Stop

Now you stop
Heart pounds like thunder
eyes flicker lightning
storm cloud shudder
the truth rains down,
pours down. it wont
Stop

Stop (updated version)

Pause for a moment.
What was in control
spins out of control
What was lost
has found its bitter end
What is sweet
Stops

Press rewind,
see life running backwards
but it's still going forwards
in reality
Watch the second hand
ticking in reverse, and it
Stops

Slow motion
Frame by frame
you pick out the mistakes
Moments blend with minutes
blurring in slow motion
Grains of sand rolling forward
Stop

The picture turns to static
My emotions start to flicker
flicker out of time
Volume never ceases
The tension never eases
how the silence keeps me blind
Then you let it
Stop

But your comfort is not honest
Untrusting tones of promise
promises unkept
You unsharpen my image
lowering your focus
as if I'll never notice
or want you to
Stop

Strangled in the cords
while you're knotting up the cables
I just want this to pause
but it seems in your control.
The only answer
is to pull out the plug
and now you stop

Heart pounds like thunder
eyes flicker lightning
storm cloud shudder
the truth rains down,
pours down. it will never
Stop

I just wrote this song about 5 minutes ago.

Learn To Love (I'm Sorry)
I'm sorry it's taken so long
I'm sorry it's taken my world to fall apart
For me to see you standing there
I'm sorry I'll disappoint you
I'm sorry I wished you well
I'm sorry you saw the truth in me
And pretended you couldn't tell

I guess there's a time
When everything's been stripped bare of us all
When I'll see you
And I'll realise that you just let me fall

[Chorus]
And they say you can learn to love
They say you can learn to care
That after time and tears and blood
Maybe there'll be something there

I'm sorry it took so long
I'm sorry it's taken them all to leave
For me to see that you were there
I'm sorry I'll turn my back
I'm sorry I'll underachieve
I'm sorry you can't see my side
When you're pretending that you can see

I guess there's a place
Where everyone has been stripped bare of it all
And I'll see you
And I'll turn my face, picturing the fall

[Chorus]
And they say you can learn to love
They say you can learn to care
That after time and tears and blood
Maybe there'll be something there

I'm sorry it's taken so long
I'm sorry it's taken my world to fall apart
For me to see you standing there

They say you can learn to love
They say you can learn to care
But I haven't learnt a thing
Cause this love was already there
