so i'm kinda way late on this, but i went to this show and it was the CRAZIEST night of my life.
there was 5 of us who went so clearly we made shirts that said, "in my heart it's the 5 of us". cute, i know. hahaha.
anyway, we wanted to get there at 6:30pm to give us an hour before doors opened. things didn't exactly work out that way.
we were driving in the carpool lane (one of those stupid carpool lanes where we're right next to the center divider with no room to breathe) and a car in the lane next to us started merging toward us. my friend who was driving was completely caught off guard and she swirved left... and we slammed into the center median. we were kinda dragging along it and she turned the wheel back the other away and the car went out of control. we were spinning in circles and the next thing i knew, we skid to a stop 2 lanes over. the front of our car was completely smashed in and it was smoking. we were all crying and i was seriously waiting for a car to hit us. by some MIRACLE, we didn't hit any car during this. i don't know where they all went but we were all completely fine.
while we were all crying, one of my friends was not phased at all and she turned to me and was like, "are we still gonna see vanessa?" it kinda lightened the mood a little haha.
so a car pulled up to us to help us. we had to call the cops a couple of times (THE LINE WAS BUSY OF COURSE!) and finally a motorcycle cop zig zagged the freeway to stop traffic while we pulled the car to the shoulder. it was kind of embarrassing/funny that there were 5 girls with matching t-shirts standing on the side of the freeway haha.
we had to get a tow truck and my friend's dad drove out to take us to the concert (YAY!) but by this time it was like 8:30. i was convinced we were gonna miss the beginning of the show and get sucky spots. when we got to the doors, one of my friends realized her ticket was missing so we told the guards everything we went through and he surprisingly let us in without her ticket AND we didn't have to pay for the drinks! we even managed to get decent spots on the side of the stage.
the show was nothing short of amazing. i LOVE vanessa.. she is so insanely talented and her lyrics are genius. as she was walking off the stage at the end, i ran over to the side and yelled, "vanessa, look at my shirt!" and she smiled and was like, "i'll sign it!" so she signed my shirt and i didn't even have to ask her to.
she was sooo nice.
then we were all waiting around to see if she'd come out and stevie walked by and for some reason i felt like i could act as if we were bff or something and i was like, "oh hey stevie!" and she was like, "hi, how are you?" and i was like, "i'm really good!" hahaha she loves me, obviously.
then vanessa finally came out and i spilled my heart out to her about how i think she's absolutely amazing and i had waited so long to see her in concert. we took pictures and she was so nice. and she loved our shirts! we went outside and we saw her friends who thought our shirts were really cute so they asked if they could take a picture of us.. it was pretty funny.
i can't believe how incredibly lucky we were that night. my friend's car was totalled and the next day we found out it had to be demolished. it was seriously a miracle that none of us were injured in the least bit. ESPECIALLY in LA where traffic is crazy. the cars seriously disappeared. but other than that, our night ended FABULOUSLY because vanessa is just THAT amazing at life.
our shirts.
