Hollywood's definition of pretty is screwed up. While there are a lot of celebrities who are very attractive (obviously), there are some who, in my opinion, either never were and I don't get their appeal or have changed drastically and yet the media still fawns over them. For example, I think Eva Longoria was pretty before she became so thin she looks like she is about to pass out. And although she's obviously anorexic, the media still talks about how hot she is looking in bathing suits and such. She looks disgusting, to be honest. Yet, even though Britney Spears has gotten back in shape after her babies, the media so wants to always portray her as crazy and disheveled, that even when she looks presentable (which isn't that often, but happens) they still say she looks horrific. It's all about what sells.
Vanessa is pretty, but she isn't built like a model or have the face of a cover girl. Thus, to the media world she is "ugly". I don't care, that makes me like her more. I'm glad she's not cookie cutter or having surgery to make herself that way!
