Colors?

Alright, I'll admit I'm more of an artistically inclined person than musically. As a result, I associate certain colors with certain songs, especially Vanessa Carlton songs.  

For example, I associate a deep purple color with Hands on Me, probably due to the night sky imagery throughout the song. With Best Behavior, I imagine a light, vivid blue, probably the blue sky of a summer's afternoon. With Heroes and Thieves, I think of a golden yellow, but I really have no clue as to this one. I associate All is Well with a bluish green (or possibly greenish blue)  with tiny flecks of red throughout.

Does anyone else associate any certain colors or patterns with V's songs, or is it just me being excessively weird?

me also have been relating the songs with colors..
its some kind of feeling and picture we get when listening to V's songs..
its a good thing that V wrote songs with her heart n love...
that's why we can feel it ;p

Maroon all the way..  :heart:

Even before Vanessa, I was obssessed with the color Maroon. I associate the key of Gb with Maroon, and I have a song called Marooned in that key! It's a rich, warm sound/color.

White Houses is sunny yellow, since the key of C is sunny & yellow.

A Thousand Miles is brownish-red, since it is in the key of B.

I have color associations with every key - major and minor. They are inspire different moods in me.

I think that Come Undone is a green, Sunny Yellow, Orange and Red, cause it's kind of upbeat.
White houses is of course white, but then i think gray, light brown to a light rubyish color
Papa is redish, to black

I love this post because i thought i was like the only one who thought of colors when listening to music. i also think about making music videos out of the songs, i think im gonna film one of heroes and thieves or one of Hands on me, i remember when i heard that song the second time i thought it would make a really good music video because it could be set in so many places, a big city on a cloudy busy day, the beach on an overcast or even sunny day, or like in the mountains when its raining.
Dont tell me im crazy.....i already know....lol

This time - probably gold, sounds pretty retro
Hands on Me -  definitely maroon

The one - reminds me of nightime
Home - reminds me of the notebook where the setting was at the plantation

that's so kewl! Me too sometimes.  And i like colors, but i hate art....most of the time.
 Hands On Me is a deep, dark blue;  Fools Like Me is a green with flecks of red; dark carnival is a deep, rich purple for me; pretty baby is a light blue...and so on.

well i woulda never thought of nessa's songs to be associated with colors
but now that i think abt it...u guys are all right....
its really amazing how her songs can touch everyone in a different way...
when i hear her songs i see a "movie slip" in my mind...or a scenario....

i love to imagine wat the video would be like if i were the directer and writer!

And for White Houses I never imagined the video being like it was....

Wow everyone's is sooo different!!
I actually imagine Papa to be blueish and white houses to be red, because its in c and its quite simple and strong- like the colour red. C'est la vie is like a yellow-green, but actually depending on the moment and what mood im in (and what I think of the song at that point in time, whether I like it or not) depends on what colour I picture it to be! True for you guys too?

My piano teacher used to tell me to imagine pieces of songs as colors. Apparently it helps you play them with emotion.
