So I was NOT impressed -- vanessa has been bad the past 3 times I have seen her, and shows are progressively getting worse....

First vanessa looked stoned out of her mind, and like she just woke up after being hung over. Her hair was a mess, clothing choices looked very odd. ...She wore a white spaghetti strapped shirt, long black gaucho pants, and a heinous red shawl thing.

She barely spoke, and when she did it was nothing new.

She played

Nolita Fairytale
Hands on Me
Ordinary Day (on Rhodes)
White Houses
Heroes and Thieves
A Thousand Miles
Home
More Than This

Her set was shorter than Anna Nailick's set.

Overall it was a waist for me to go see her, but the rest of the performers did well! She left right after the show, and did not sign anything or do any pictures. Her performances are becoming more and more robotic; she is just playing and saying the same things over and over-- I miss her spontaneity, and the old vanessa....

On a positive note -- it was nice to see her alone!
Peace

i guess i could agree with most of the stuff you said, but i wasn't as critical just because i haven't seen her in 2 years and was just excited to see her again. i'll have pictures and videos available soon.

vanessa didn't seem very happy or awake.. she kept complaining about the "apocalyptic" weather.

i loved anna nalick, though, she was hilarious.

Ordinary Day on the Rhodes? thats new at least. usually its C`est la vie. Eh I just think shes kinda depressed latley. I mean shes just playing these shows and nothing is happening. I mean I would want at least some recognition. All she gets is seeing people that know her. Not that that is bad, but if I played shows it would to be to get new people and get a few good numbers in cd/single sales.

I'm not sure what the average number of songs in for a set like this where
there's a multiple line-up, other than to compare it to the 7 song set list of
V's support down under for Stevie. If you're used to more, disappointment
is only going to be compounded by V's demeanor as you've described it :?

For the most part I'd have to agree with Steve.  I wasn't completely unimpressed, but I'd definitely have to agree that she wasn't very personable at this performance.  And she clearly was "out of it", my boyfriend and I both noticed, as did Steve.  I personally don't care about stuff like that, but I wished that for the 40 dollars I spent to go to the show that I would have gotten a bit of a better performance.  In any case, it was nice to see her again.  Was cool that she played "Ordinary Day" on the Rhodes - that was something different.  I feel that perhaps it was partly the type of show that it was... one in which the majority of the audience only knew her singles... not a show where there's bigger fans of hers at (at least.. not many).  I tend to think when she, or any artist plays a show like this that they don't get into it quite as much as they do intimate ones with their fans.  I enjoyed myself, was a good night all in all.  And the wine, beer and food were wonderful haha.

Thans guys, I'm sorry the show was a little lack luster.  I probably would have been disappointed too.  At least she got a good review in the paper- the Buffalo news can be sketchy.

Carlton’s and Goodrem’s performances stole the show

That's what I would've expected; so its nice to see this outcome in print

Not sure what you people on the Eastcoast do to her but I have never seen her so out if it as you described.

No it was with Anna Nalick, Delta whatever her name is and I don't know who else. There's a thread about it.

What's happening to her?? If it was a waste of time it seems that she lost her motivation....  :(

I agree, I think shes depressed. Wouldnt you be? Shes on top of the music world, and what happens when her music gets deeper?! A flop. So what does she do? Quit her record label, and ends up signing with a man who make promises he doesnt keep. In my opinion Irv signed Vanessa, thinking it would be good to have her and it would be easy. He was wrong and gave up. Remeber Kiwibox? Se used to light up when his name was mentioned. Now its more of Oh... Oh yae hes great... I think she has a right to be depressed at this point. :(

(sorry about my run on sentences.)
