Yes, someone knows who she's talking about.
Igor Stravinsky: hands down the most amazing composer to ever live. He revolutionized music forever and wrote the most fantastic of pieces. Stravinsky introduced so many new concepts into music that inspired countless musicians, including Frank Zappa. He is my number one idol in life. Vanessa is the second on my list of my life idols. The fact that my #2 idol spoke about my #1 idol... I think I just died of happiness.
Stravinsky passed away at age 88 in 1971, which is why V said that she "def don't know him."
The fact that so many people critique Vanessa so harshly for being "different" than the rest of the pop artists out there always, ALWAYS makes me think of Stravinsky. He wrote so many new and exciting works that people couldn't comprehend it. Stravinsky wrote at the tail end of the romantic era... His music was anything but romantic. So people said that he was terrible, that he shouldn't be allowed to compose... but he had many loyal fans (like us Nessaholics for V) who appreciated both him and his music, those who could look beyond trivialities such as being different or out of the "norm." Those who didn't like him (and those who don't like Vanessa, for that matter) don't know all the magic that they're missing out on.
Sorry for the essay response, but Stravinsky is my absolute favorite composer ever, and Vanessa (and the way the world perceives her) reminds me of him. And I'm just a tad bit excited that Vanessa tweeted about Igor Stravinsky. C:
