I dunno... But I'd applaud her for appreciating both mainstream as well as alternative stuff... Imo people who roll their eyes at "popular" music cos it's cliched are missing out on good music and tend to just shut themselves inside a box.

All music needs to be appreciated.

that is a nice way of looking at it.  Personally, most pop music gives me a headache but some is okay!

i just listened to the album vanessa mentioned on her last tweet (the year of hibernation), and i have to say it has a really relaxing and soft sound, and different too. i like it a lot. some songs on it sounded to me like a lighter version of kimya dawson's "hidden vagenda", but with a less raw sound and more actual.
