I just bought The Year of Magical thinking by Joan didion and I was so excited when I found it. It's really really good.

the book is also available at borders, i was very close to buying it, and i think i will...it was advertised in the front of the store as a best seller...
does anyone know the neuroscience book she mentioned?
i love science books and that kinda thing...more so if they are older, but updated stuff is always cool too.

yea look at my first post (third post in this) and I wrote it in... it was iconoclasts and I am not sure if I recommend it after reading it.
Peace

I have just got around to buying We Tell Ourselves Stories in order to live, but The Year of Magical Thinking is an incredibly powerful book.

It also made the Telegraph list of books of the decade, number 4.

The first book she recommended a long time ago was total trash.  I actually went into the store to check it out and don't even consider books mentioned by her even worth looking into now.

I find her music interesting but I'll skip the books.

The year of Magical Thinking was great. I read it just to read it, but it helped me to stop magical thinking over the loss of a friend, he moved and told me basically to go away. I love him but at least I don't obsess anymore.
I was stained by a role in a day not my own,
cause I've seen Twilight.
