Vader, were you the woman who was a teacher from Philly?

Nope. I am in Software Development/Systems Integration, but I was at the Philly show.

Ohh, ok! I was behind a woman in line on Sunday's show who I thought might be from the boards.

the show before I talked to Vanessa and asked her if she could play Hear the Bells for the show on the 29th (because I heard her play it during sound check for the Boston show on the 25th)
more or less she said it might be ready, but obviously it wasn't because they didn't play it =P lol.
that's ok though, just a shame I can't make it to the california shows to see it.

this night was good. the 3rd of the Joe's Pub shows...
Vanessa changed the words in I Don't Want to Be a Bride to "I don't have any expectations" instead of "I don't want to have expectations"...
and I have my reasons for why I think she did that  ;)
the show on the 27th (2nd show) felt a bit weird.. like there was tension between umm ari & v.. and well.. I guess they made it right for the next show  :P lol, just a feeling, sorry if that's saying too much.

Heroes & Thieves was played on piano instead of Rhodes like the show on the 27th.
I loved H&T on Rhodes, but this was very good too, also a good thing she switched it up a little from the last show.

didn't get to see Vanessa after the show, she rushed off, but I did see and said hi to Ari & Skye.

our (me, Brian & Ghis) table for this night was the closest of the 3 nights, but as my videos show, we didn't have a great view of Vanessa, what with the piano blocking most of her and all. Still able to see her head and feet, and of course all of her when she played the Rhodes, so it was good anyway.

but yeah, Joe's Pub sucks.
Vanessa said (you can hear in my video for Home) that they might be back in the Fall...
ugh, I hope it's a different place, cause Joe's Pub is a pain in the ass.

p.s. Skye played xylophone on Dear California again (but he did that all 3 nights, so it's nothing special for this night)
uhhh, I got a set list... but it's a typed out one, Vanessa didn't do hand written set lists for these shows. also, since I didn't see her after the show, it is unsigned.

what else am I forgetting...........uhhhhhhhhhh
I saw Ari's brother and mom after the show too, lol. but I mean I didn't say hi to them obviously, that would've been weird. but still kinda cool there was 2/3rds of The Upwelling there. lol!
uhhhh SKye rode his bike to all 3 shows =P

I donno what else to say, I'll just post again if I think of something ;D

Martin.

Wow, wait!?! Did you really post videos of V's bottom half? Why didn't you just rip the sound?

lol! they're not ALL like that! I got a good view when she played on Rhodes, also I moved the camera a tiny bit I think moreso for the later songs.

It's not like you can see anything anyway :P just her dress blowing in the fan.
actually my original intention was so people could see when she uses the foot pedal, but it was too dark I think.

eh.

I had a feeling about her and Ari, just speculation. I mean, they have chemistry for writing and the such, you can only imagine after spending so much time with a person with whom you connect that things would progress in that direction.  I wish them well if that's the case, she could do worse!  I believe Joe's Pub is going under renovation so maybe if she does go back there it will be much different.
I guess we'll be seeing each other in the fall then! yay~

The renovated version seems like it will be a big improvement. They have drawings of what the layout will look like here:

I think all of it will be seated as well.

I do hope the renovations will help.   although they need to renovate their menu as well.  there is not much on there.    The 1st two shows I got the same sandwich each time, then i got hummus at this show.    kulp had the same sandwich at all 3 shows.

and according to nicole (ilovehanson) the brownie sunday was terrible haha.

The brownie sundae was horrendous! I had a sandwich the first night and the banana split the second night. The latter was actually not that bad! The sandwich was mediocre at best...

LOL kulp had the same thing.  I had 2 different salads - the Caprese and the arugala both having way to much pepper or something that made it too spicy.  How was the hummus? I Know we were debating about that...
I had a mojito drink as well, which was good but TINY for $14.

This is what I've been thinking too. I thought I was the only one to do so...

Maybe, that's why Bride sounds so perfect.

Looks pretty well thought out.  Did they get rid of the bar in the back?  Seemed like a waste.  No real place for merch, either.  Looks like that first pic is a view from the stage and the other from the seating.  If they pushed back the walls and got rid of that weird backstage area, it would be really nice.

I kinda like Joe's Pub.  Tickets are dirt cheap.  Even if you figure in minimums for food, you're still way ahead of the game, and the artist is right in front of you.  Compare what I paid to see VC with what I paid for McCartney tickets....yow!  Hurts to even sit down.
