I just wanted to write in again to say that I saw the White Stripes on the 31st. And I didn't have to borrow a RAZR to take pictures because now I have my own. But that's a different discussion.
Simply put, the White Stripes are
AWESOME!!!!I took several pictures and video clips - none are great but some are decent - but mostly I just stood and enjoyed it. It was just such a dizzying experience - and that without the lights and the feedback! They performed several tracks from their new album 'Icky Thump' as well as many older ones, including tracks from way on back there! Meg sang "In The Cold Cold Night", and as soon as Jack had played the first measure of that one, the roof would've blown off the place (had there been a roof)!! She really got into it, too!
There were very few songs they played that I'm not sure if I'd heard before, and there were very few songs they didn't play that I would've liked to hear. The did play "Hotel Yorba", which was also a hell of a crowd pleaser. Their closer was "De Ballit of De Boll Weevil".
My uncle went with me since his son (my cousin) had to drop out on me on short notice. It didn't really matter to me as long as I got my $45 back for his ticket. He said that Jack was an excellent guitar player and a great singer, to which I agree. I guess if you don't like their sound, you don't like it, but myself, I'm surprised I made it home with both of my socks!
