If I could get my hands on some highly sophisticated software that would allow me to translate my piano playing to sheet music, I would have this song pieced together for you guys.  For the most part at least. I could try to upload a video somewhere of me playing the chunks I know to help anyone get started on some new music? :) any takers?

When analyzing this, I took into consideration that this song is lyrically very nature-based, helping me with deciphering the lyrics. With regard to the second verse, though, she mentions the symbol of life (a baby). And with life, comes death. Which ultimately brought me to the darker lyric of "the destine's a hearse." Because the devil (symbol of corruptness or an omen) is prominent, I think that the 'ritual' which Vanessa refers to, is to rid of the detrimental things in her life. To free herself from it all. Then in a way, she is suggesting that her deus ex machina is in the form of a man, admitting she is "lucky to find [him];" almost as if he may have been one of the things which "pulled her away from the devil." Okay, anyway, that was long-winded. Sorry! Here's what I found for lyrics! Enjoy:

Find a love, go build a cabin
Find land in a tree, carving a wish on your knees,
Plant seeds, the dirt's making a rose where the devil don't see

Love, I agree, so lucky to find ya
Our memories, they don't stay behind us
Our minds our strong,
But could it be enough to bring strength to the bone?

Our weeping willow (that's) hanging above me
Am I back in the sun, would it fall upon me?
I won't let you down, and man you will keep safe my love.

Sew the Earth, a blanket, a bounty
In the destine's a hearse
The devil drives empty
In a baby's eyes, the ritual purifies every desire

Our weeping willow (that's) hanging above me
Am I back in the sun, would it fall upon me?
I won't let you don't, and man you will keep safe my love
Man you will keep safe my love
Man you will keep safe my love

The arm of the willow that's hanging above me
Am I back in the sun, would it fall upon me?
I won't let you don't, and man you will keep safe
Let you down, and man you will keep safe
Let you down, and man you will keep safe
Let you down, and man you will keep safe my love
Safe my love, safe my love..
Safe my love.

I think maybe this was written regarding Vanessa's loss?

Find a love, go build a cabin
Find land and a tree, carving a wish
On your knees, plant seeds
the dirt plant a rose,
Where the devil don't see

Love thy green, so lucky you find it
Our memories, they
don't stay behind us
Our minds are strong
Could it be enough to bring strength to the bone

Arm of the willow is hanging above me
Now I'm back in the sun, will it fall upon me?
I won't let you down, Man you will keep safe my love
Safe my love

Sow the earth, blanket a bounty
in our destinies hearse
the devil drives empty
And a babies' eyes
The ritual purifies every design

Arm of the willow is hanging above me
I'm back in the sun Would it fall upon me
I won't let you down, Maybe youll keep save my love
Maybe youll keep save my love
Man you will keep save my love

Arm of the willow, hanging above me
My back in the sun, Would it fall upon me?
I won't let you down, Maybe you will keep safe
let you down
Maybe you will keep safe
let you down
Man you will keep safe my love
Save my love

Willows. possible album version official lyrics:

Find a love, go build a cabin
If I lay under the tree, carving a wish
On your knees, plant seeds
The dirt making roads
Where the devil don't see

Love, I agree, so lucky to find ya
Our memories, they don't stay behind us
Our minds are strong
Could it be enough to bring strength to the bones?

Our weeping willow is hanging above me
I'm'a back in the sun
Would it fall upon me?
I won't let you down
The man you will keep safe, my love
Safe, my love

Soil of the Earth, a blanket, a bounty
In the distance of hers
The devil dries empty in a baby's eyes
The ritual purifies every design

Our weeping willow is hanging above me
I'm'a back in the sun
Would you lay beside me?
I won't let you down
The man you will keep safe, my love
The man you will keep safe, my love
The man you will keep safe, my love

And our weeping willow is hanging above me
I'm'a back in the sun
Would you lay beside me?
I won't let you down
The man you will keep safe
Let you down
The man you will keep safe
Let you down
The man you will keep safe, my love

I hear "In the distance a hearse
The devil drives empty"
~Our minds hold the chaos that started everything~

i figured I'd write this here since it's willow - specific and not the album in general..
I just realized today that there is no violin in the studio version!  What it thought was plucking must be guitar because skye/violin is not listed in the song :( super bummed because the jig-like quality I love in the live version is a bit lost in the stuido.  It's definitely still there and I still love the song, but sad about the strings.  I'm glad we have the option of listening to the live version on the delux album.
