I know that Hip Hop in some circles is a very taboo topic, and in other circles is more or less a beating post because of some of the content of the lyrics, etc. However, I know that some people here do like hip hop music. If you do, cool, if you don't, that's fine too.

However, just as a general question for everyone, if you purely look at Hip Hop as an artistical form of music, who would be your favorite artist? I tried to include some of the most common answers, but if the person you like isn't there, feel free to say who it is.

i prefer rock in every forms , alternative , or punk as you want lol
or other kind of music as Linkin park
i would better listen to some Nirvana, Goo goo dolls, Ska-p (viva españa :wink: ), New Found Glory, Offsprings ............

I love Biggie... He is one of my favorite artists.

I truly appreciate hip hop for it is just not music, but a culture. Most people think that hip hop is all nonsense about money, bling bling and hoes. If you listen to it more closely you will see that there is more than that. There are conscious hip hop artists that have a message. If you are interested... check out Talib Kweli or Common.

I hate almost all Hip Hop, however I said "Other" cause I dig some of DMX's stuff.
The man's got rhythm and he's not full of shit like most rappers out there. He's not out dueting with J-Lo or Ashanti. He has no fake persona just to sell records.
He's a damn good actor too.

There are a lot of good things to be said about DMX.... but a fine actor is NOT one I would have come up with.

Hey wait a minute! was that fake person one a cheap shot at Eminem! Em writes some of the best lyrics EVER.

Actually I was thinking JaRule. But it applies to Eminem too, as well as P.Shiddy and 95% of the hip/hop industry.

I knew I was going to forget someone, and it was Nelly, DOH. lol.

And I agree with DMX being a decent actor to the point that if you compare him to the rest of the music stars who have tried to act, he's not half bad. (And before anyone talks about Will Smith, he was an actor first, then a musician
