uhm.....AC/DC? and what are you converting from,....you may just be better off giving me the ratio ;)

Yeah Katia but my boss likes me to do more than just fix broken things, he always has me adding printers or typing up reports on what to do in even of a power outage (wait for power to come back and turn your PC back on duh!) but yeah, silly stuff so in reality while i type here im typing up how to's for our network and surprisingly things do break alllll the time when you have 65 completely computer illiterate users downloading stupid things form the internet all the time. grr..but its cool i love the feeling you get when you fix something and it works perfect.........I have no idea what Covad is...and manage the tech weenies...would that make you an IT manager weenie? j/k

Technically i'm an Ops Manager..  I manage specifically the engineering group within operations that interfaces with the other engineering groups about big problems.

Covad is a DSL company, the TAC (Technical Assistance Center) is the dept i work in and we fix DSL lines when they go down.  If you're having problems with the equipment and it's not just a normal problem, then it comes to us (i have 5 people) and we talk to the vendor/engineering and such.

I think you didn't get it....power transistors.

for a class b subwoofer amp. I found two, a 30 amp (close) and a 50 amp. might be difficult to get........120V,  is it safe to run on 50 volt rails or I'd just blow them up?

Thats a pretty awesome position to have....Im actually thinking of moving somewhat near your general area (SC).  Did you move down there for the job?   Im kinda worried when i go i wont be able to find anything related

if they are rated at 120V they should run on the rails fine, if they arent enough you may need to get 240V transistors...i dont think they have 150's or anything between 120 and 240......i dont really have any purchasing ability for this stuff...id say just hunt online, but yeah, the 120 should really be all you need

I actually started with Covad in California.  They relocated me to VA to start the Operations out here in Jan of 2000.  There is slim pickings out here and i can assume it's even worse in SC... there isn't a whole lot down there :)

but i guess what little they have, they need techies :)

ok, so MJ11032 and MJ11016 (50 and 30 amp 120V, found them last night in a site) are fine? I guess spending a bit more on expensive transistors are better than blowing up 10 transistors guessing what to replace it. wait, it's wayy better.
