Makes sense  :). I told BV it wasn't perfect, but it was pretty good for a first run through, lol.
For all you broken hearted lovers lost, go find another one. 'Cause you know time won't wait and you'll be late, white rabbits on the run...

For the lyrics of "White Houses," when I was watching TRL today, some lyrics came up differently than what has been posted.

Crashed on the floor when I moved in,
This little bungalow with some strange new friends
Stay up too late, and I'm too thin,
We promise each other it's 'til the end
Now we're spinning empty bottles, it's the five of us,
With pretty-eyed boys girls die to trust
I can't resist the day,
No, I can't resist the day

And Jenny screams out and it's no pose,
'Cause when she dances, she goes and goes,
And beer through the nose on an inside joke
I'm so excited I haven't spoken
And she's so pretty and she's so sure,
Maybe I'm more clever than a girl like her
Summer's all in bloom,
And summer is ending soon

It's alright, and it's nice not to be so alone,
But I hold onto the secrets, in white houses

Maybe I'm a little bit over my head,
I come undone at the things he said,
And he's so funny in his bright red shirt
We were all in love, and we all got hurt
I sneak into his car's cracked leather seat,
The smell of gasoline in the summer heat,
Boy, we're going way too fast,
It's all too sweet to last

It's alright, and I put myself in his hands,
But I hold onto the secrets, in white houses
Love, or something ignites in my veins,
And I pray it never fades, in white houses

My...first...time,
Hard to explain,
Rush of blood, oh, and a little bit of pain,
On a cloudy day, it's more common than you think
He's my... first... mistake

Maybe you were all faster than me,
We gave each other up so easily
These silly little wounds will never mend,
I feel so far from where I've been,
So I go, and I will not be back here again
I'm gone as the day is fading, on white houses

I lied, wrote my injuries all in the dust,
In my heart is the five of us, in white houses

And you, maybe you'll remember me,
What I gave is yours to keep, in white houses,
In white houses,
In white houses
sig & av by natalie, thank you!

thanks brian, you rock for figuring out the lyrics

I think its: Bungalo not bunk alone.

after i looked it up on dictionary.com [Bungalow]
n : a small house with a single story

that makes so much more sence.
i'm gonna edit my post.

Nope, i think you're wrong. The song is about her at ballet school (or the time when she was at ballet school) as it mentions in the MTV article on her- and it would make much more sense if she was refering to her bunk (bed)in her ballet school dormitory. Also, how mnay bungalows are there in new york? It would make much more sense if she was in 'a little bunk alone with some strange new friends'.

But there is the issue of why she would mention her bunk immediately after saying that she crashed on the floor?

Just when I'd convinced myself it wasn't that long and I could survive, you go and spoil my fun. That's it - I'm going to have everything Vanessa Carlton related erased from my memory before I go insane with waiting!

LMAO- kevin, isn't it quite obvious? She fell out of her bunk bed! hehe. You can crash on the floor when you move in somewhere, even if she does have a bunk bed, no? Thats just silly technicalities! All i know its that its not 'bungalow'. hehe

Of course! You've definitely cracked it there. heh. So clear now.

True, you can do, but you'd have to have some pretty serious problems to want to spend a night on the floor when there's a perfectly good bed.

I'm still convinced that it is. The vocals are pretty clear at that point. For my money, it's definitely not "little bunk alone". (yes, you have permission to laugh at me when the book comes out and I'm wrong!).
