Liar and Tire so totally do not rhyme.  Liar is a two-syllable word and Tire is a one-syllable word. :P

But no, they don't rhyme, and here's why:

Liar = LIGH-urr (2 syllables)
Tire = TIGHR (1 syllable)

And I'm getting about ready to release the correct answers to my question. 8)

yeah I really want to spell it that way....but I doubt I could pull it off...I'm just not british enough.

and I guess you're right about the rhyme thing but I think most people add a schwa sound in tire even though you shouldn't...you have to try so hard not to...try doing it....try...now!
