Dammit,
I was hoping for "My Immortal"
Oh well, we won't know until "Bring Me To Life" dies down.

they were playing Going Under at acoustic sets in Europe etc so that is what leads people to believe Going Under is next.

I think even though My Immortal is really pertty, they'll go with another upbeat rock song.  People think they sound to linkin parkish because of Bring Me to Life having a male vocal presence of Paul McCoy.  Going Under would get them out of that i think/hope ;)

Maybe My Immortal will be after Going Under to show the variance in their style... both heavy rock and slow ballads... that would be cool

In case anyone cared, I got the R&R numbers from the alternative chart for Ev again this week. The numbers aren't as promising as they were last week, as Linkin Park is gaining some breathing room at number one and Audioslave is trying to make a resurgence towards the top. Also, Ev didn't make a very substantial gain this week, so BMTL may be at the peak of its popularity, but we will see. In any case, here are the numbers

Quote from: "R&R"
1   Linkin Park  Somewhere I Belong (Warner Bros.)   3193 (LW 3052)
2   Evanescence  Bring Me To Life (Wind-up)   3080 (LW 3050)
4   Audioslave  Like A Stone (Interscope/Epic)   2915 (LW 2861)
3   Red Hot Chili Peppers  Can't Stop (Warner Bros.)   2911 (LW 2897)
5   Foo Fighters  Times Like These (Roswell/RCA)   2477 (LW 2536)
6   Trapt  Headstrong (Warner Bros.)   2379 (LW 2214)

... and because I'm sure Kevin is interested, "Going Under" garnered 14 plays on KNDD last week :)

Speaking of BMTL, the hot AC station here is playing it LOL

2 14 EVANESCENCE/Bring Me To Life

They actually had 14 plays last week. I heard it and thought it was on WLUM, and actually checked my dial lol. That is cool though.

Now Ordinary Day is on the OTHER Hot AC station LOL

Yes... but it only gained 30 plays this week, which is weak as hell considering they had been on the most increased plays list for about a month and a half up until the last two weeks. Plus LP gained a lot of breathing room, so that pretty much shoots hitting #1 down the drain unless they gain a bunch of airplay back this week.

There's a review of the album in the new Rolling Stone. I think they got 3 stars, but I'd have to check to be sure.

It was a decent review....

"Finally a band that both P.O.D. and Tori Amos fans can agree on."

"Call it a case of mistaken identity. Evanescence's hit "Bring Me To Life" doomed the Arkansas group to a life of Linkin Park comparisons, thanks to the song's digital beats, clean metal-guitar riffs, scattered piano lines and all-too-familiar mix of rapping and singing. The gimmick? It's a woman on the mike, and she's on a mission from God. When vocalist Amy Lee croons about lying "in my field of paper flowers" or "pouring crimson regret," she gives Fallen a creepy spiritual tinge that the new-metal boys lack. Sometimes the band even helps her out, adding ghostly echoes and ghoulish industrial noises to the aptly titled "Haunted" or, better yet, leaving her the hell alone."

They are also #5 on the Hot List and on the top 40 albums list and at the bottom it says "A twenty-one-year old Tori Amos fan from Arkansas breathes life into the dying embers of new metal. Evanescence: Chick Metal"

Despite the fact they are 4 months late on it, Kiss FM here has had "Bring Me To Life" on its Kiss Kombat the last two nights, and it has just blown the two challengers the F out. LOL. It beat Wednesday night's champion on Thursday and blew out last night's challenger. LOL. If it wins Monday night I think it gets retired, and actually put on the playlist  :D. That would make 3 Milwaukee stations playing BMTL, WOOOOOOOOO

Ya know, i LOVE Evanescence... Their demos spent weeks in my cd player (thanks kev, you rule) and I have their new album... but I just HATE the way they redid "bring me to life" and have that paul mccoy guy in there... and the video... Ugh.

I wish more bands would stay indie. I love their demos... so beautiful.... oh well.
