I have to learn how to
listen to a song, so you can imagine the difficulty I might have learning to
play it! :?
In reality, I did take class piano about four or five years ago, and while I wasn't able to finish the two-year class for financial reasons, I did pick up quite a bit of practical knowledge there.
But now like I say, this was four or five years ago, and I haven't played much at all since then - I hadn't even touched a musical instrument in a year until last week! 8O
So I'm having to reteach my eyes and hands what they're supposed to do to make little balls, flags, and lines on a sheet of paper become beautiful melodies and harmonies.
But Vanessa is the inspiration that's making me do it, and slowly but surely I'm relearning by playing "A Thousand Miles". I have the verse in great shape and by the end of this week I want to be able to play it for the family. I'm also going to learn "Imagine" and "Stairway to Heaven". My birthday's coming up, so the 'Be not Nobody' book is a must on my list! :wink:
