Alien Movie Series
« on: October 15, 2003, 08:35:27 pm »
Who's a fan of the Alien Movie Series?
Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 & Alien: Resurrection

The cast of Aliens

I was psyched because FOX is rereleasing Alien: Director's Cut to theaters on October 31, but I just read that the number of prints is being cut from 1200 to 300! Which means only one print per major city. You cant just go to your local megaplex to see it :(
On November 11th the Alien Quadrilogy 4 pack will be released on DVD. The new director's cut of Alien, the Aliens: Special Edition, the newly restored Alien 3: Director's Cut (which used to only be available in a very low quality Editor's Work Print bootleg), and a newly restored AR too!
It's gonna be a thing of beauty.

Great movie series.  The original is the best, because it's the only one where H.R. Giger does all the design and actually gets credit for it.  FOX should have its corporate balls cut off for the injustice they do that man.  I've heard they are thinking about a 5th film and that Ridley Scott is very interested in directing.  I can only hope.

I am going this weekend with my dad.  He's the one that got me hooked on the series.

I hit the Alien D.C. in the theater tonight.
SWEET! Finally seeing it on the big screen after all these years.
My only problem with it...
I've seen the original deleted scenes which were put back into the movie.
The scene where they listen to the distress call/warning. They changed the audio track. The original was like some loud lethargic whale sounds. It was changed to... something else.

But over all, I'm happy. I cant wait for that Quadrilogy!

Director's Cut

Loved the Director's Cut!  The nest scene was a little out of place, but otherwise it was all good.  Sigorney Weaver looked INCREDIBLE on the big screen, especially at the end.  :D

I picked up the Quadrilogy today. It's even cooler than the picture!

I picked up Alien vs Predator on DVD today.

I thought this was funny, in Avril's video for "Nobody's Home" you can see the movie poster for it:
