NOT that kind of girl ... Delta Goodrem.

Delta hurt by slur she kept Scud up all night

Luke Dennehy
29jan04

POP star Delta Goodrem is furious about claims by Mark Philippoussis's
former tennis coach Pat Cash that the Scud was distracted during his loss
to Hicham Arazi because of her.

A close family source said Goodrem was not staying at the same hotel as
Philippoussis and was in bed at 11pm the night before Monday's Australian
Open match.

"She is very hurt and found the comments disrespectful," the source said.
"She is not that kind of girl."

Former Wimbledon champion Cash said the Scud's exit from the
tournament was "very, very average" and he looked tired.

"He looked like he was up all night, doing whatever . . . getting busy,"
Cash said.

Philippoussis was staying at the Crown Towers, while Goodrem and her
mother Lea were staying at the new Crown Promenade hotel across the
road.

On Sunday night security guards were seen escorting Goodrem into the
Crown Promenade well before 11pm. The next day she was seen at Albert
Park watching the Scud train.

The source said Goodrem was also not yet well enough to be up all night
and needed rest as she recovers from Hodgkin's disease.

"She just wanted to come to the tennis to have fun, get out of the house,
and support a friend," the source said.

Goodrem and Philippoussis formed a close bond in the past two weeks
and have a budding romance.

It's not the first time Cash has commented on what the Scud gets up to in
his private life.

"Just how do you explain to a hot-blooded, distinctly heterosexual
youngster in his early 20s he should shun the invitations of Miss
Kournikova while millions of his contemporaries around the world could
only fantasise about being in the same position?" Cash said in his London
newspaper column last year.

The Courier Mail.

thanks sucks peeps should leave delta alone - she needs no stress and she is the most wholesome singer i have ever seen (i even discribe her music and her as inspirational with a wholesome sexiness when i try to tell people about her) she is too good for people to be so bad to her ---

Game, set and love match: Mark Philippoussis and Delta Goodrem with
Wayne Arthurs at Vodafone Arena yesterday.

Scud and Delta ignore critics

By Angela Cuming
February 1, 2004

Fingers firmly clasped together, pop princess Delta Goodrem and tennis
star Mark Philippoussis showed the world yesterday that they don't care
what anyone thinks of their love match.

This exclusive Sun-Herald picture of the couple in Melbourne yesterday is
the first time they have been photographed holding hands.

It follows a tumultuous week in which Goodrem, 19, was accused of
distracting Philippoussis, 27, and costing him a chance of winning the
Australian Open.

Goodrem and Philippoussis yesterday walked to Vodafone Arena with his
Davis Cup teammates Lleyton Hewitt and Wayne Arthurs for a closed
training session.

Wearing a white baseball cap, baggy jeans and sneakers, Goodrem, who
calls Philippoussis a "very nice boy", clutched her tennis beau's hand while
Hewitt and Arthurs walked ahead.

The pair's match-up, however, has raised more than a few eyebrows on
the tennis scene.

Fingers were pointed at Goodrem last week as the reason for Philippoussis'
poor form in the fourth round of the Open, in which he was beaten by 30-
year-old Moroccan Hicham Arazi, who is ranked 51 in the world.

After Philippoussis lost the match, Australia's 1987 Wimbledon champion
Pat Cash said the Scud looked like he needed to spend less time
socialising and more time sleeping.

"He tries to stay pretty focused on the court . . . it's the stuff off the court
that's proving distracting for him," Cash said.

Delta Goodrem watches the match between Mark Philippoussis and
Mario Ancic of Croatia at the Australian Open.

Thanx Scotty  No wonder the retailers are concerned about the sale of
music on-line :D Consumers demand access to a greater choice of music;
no chance of being disappointed b/c your fave retailer didn't carry the CD
(lets hope that increased competiton improves the situation at HMV & Co)
