Delta's second comingDelta Goodrem will release her second album in November after recording several final tracks in Britain.I bumped into the singer backstage at Party in the Park in London's Hyde Park and she revealed her excitement about recording and releasing new songs. After describing her new-found level of energy something which is precious to the 19-year-old, given her battle with Hodgkin's disease Goodrem said her new CD was likely to be released within four months. Not only has she been busy recording new tracks in London, Goodrem has also enjoyed a few local dance classes just for the fun of it.The singer seemed very relaxed away from the intense media pressure in Australia, and admitted she has enjoyed taking time out overseas.Interestingly, mum Lea Goodrem who has accompanied Goodrem to the US and Britain in the past few months has returned to Australia. Goodrem is spending time in London with her boyfriend, Mark Philippoussis, but is also focusing on finalising her new songs.Goodrem went backstage at Party in the Park to meet up with Darren Hayes, who performed three songs at the high-profile event including his brilliant new tongue-in-cheek single, Popular. (The track is already being played on radio in Australia, despite not being on sale in record stores yet. Be on the lookout for his new video clip in coming weeks.) After their catch-up backstage at Party in the Park, Hayes took Goodrem to the opening of Spider-Man 2 in Leicester Square last Monday night. The two singers have forged a friendship since Hayes appeared at last year's ARIA awards to perform Goodrem's single Lost Without You. (Interestingly, the pair did not know each other before the performance and only met face-to-face for the first time six months after Hayes made the surprise appearance).Goodrem said she expects to spend another two to three weeks recording in London before returning to Australia.
Yeah Tia - with a little luck it will be released just prior to Delta's Birthday
Delta Goodrem - Jeans 4 GenesMulti ARIA and Logie award winning singer, song-writer and actor Delta Goodrem has shown her support for the Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI) by donating a pair of her own jeans for national Jeans for Genes Day 2004. The jeans have been painted with a portrait of Delta showing her poise and style. Artist Garry Fleming also added a few butterflies, including her favourite images. Delta's jeans will not only be a highlight at the annual celebrity jeans art auction, but will also be the image on the badges for sale in 2004. 'I was extremely happy to join others in the music industry this year and donate a pair of my jeans to "Jeans for Genes" which is a great cause. The Childrens Medical Research Institute does important work and I hope the monies raised this year will go a long way to finding the cures we all hope for,' she said. The past few years have been an incredible ride for Delta, who last year won a record breaking nine Aria awards with "Innocent Eyes" being the highest local album ever in Australia. Delta is one of Australia's most talented and admired stars, having also won a Logie Award for Best New Female Talent. The jeans will be among a collection of other famous Australian and international music industry legends whose signed and painted jeans are in the auction. They will then be auctioned at a Gala event in Sydney. Previous years have seen the combination of artistic talent and celebrity status raise hundreds of thousands for CMRI. The use of Delta's jeans for this charity event is evidence that she has become an Australian icon, and one with a big heart.
