Even though i have voted for Paradise every round without fail, I have to give the song credit.  Compared to other "better" songs from the past that didn't make BnN, Paradise survived from the first demo tape, to Rinse, to BnN.  The only other songs that did that are Twilight, Ordinary Day, and Wanted.  It must hold something really special to Vanessa to keep the song going for all this time instead of her bringing other songs from the demo and Rinse (like All I Ask, which is much much better than Paradise).

Yeah... I was thinking the same thing! It must mean something special to her! She never sings it in concert too... which for a lot of artists means that it might be too emotional to her to sing. Yeah, it may also mean that she doesnt want to sing it in concert because she doesn't like the song... but why would she keep it around so long? It is a very emotional song! And I think to be able to write about something that deeply it must be personal to her! I know that song helped save my life! It really is an amazing song...

Pst.  You honestly think Vanessa had ANY say in what songs did and did not make the album?

maybe, maybe not.  I still don't think it's the best song.

I don't think so.  It doesn't fit the tone of BnN.  She's develope so much as an artist and given the arrangements of the tracks on BnN Burden would have been out of place

I think she atleast had some... and if her record people wanted to keep it around that long, that also means it's a good song. Paradise helped me and I know it also helped other people too. Thank God she released it... if not i may not of been here right now. I was seriously so bad off... and that song spoke to me and was the first thing that made me realise i needed help. The doctor told me i was going to be hospatalized if i countinued what i was doing. I guess maybe you have to have been in the state that she talks about in the song to appreciate it, or atleast be able to think deep enough.

well by that theory wanted is just as special...so keep it!

the last three survivors are in fact my favorite songs...but paradise is my least favorite of the three. If its between sway and wanted next....I really dont know what to choose  :?    :?

did i say that? i dont think so... i just meant that sometimes people who have gone through something are the only ones who understand what it feels like. if i were to hear "paradise" before i was ever depressed, it wouldnt mean anything to me! i could relate to every word in that song tho... seriously! depression is something that plays with your mind. i thought thoughts that i would never dream of thinking. i almost lost the battle until i heard this song.... thats why i can relate to it and why it means SO much to me! do not try to shine a humerous light on depression. ok?
