A new baby Princess

is born
Our Prince Willem Alexander van Oranje(the one who's gonna be king soon) and his wife Maxima had a baby girl, at 5:01 pm (Dutch time, lol)

They haven't announced her name yet, that'll probably be revealed in a press conference at 9:30 pm



it's all over the news, on every channel I put on

OOoh that's good news! I can imagine the reaction, people would (will) go nuts here when it happens... hopefully this time next year the Prince of Spain will be announcing his wife's pregnancy.

Maxima Zorreguieta... her father was a Minister of some South American  dictatorship and he wasn't invited to the royal wedding right?

Btw Si, you have a Queen now, don't you? Queen Beatrice is it? Hmm *not sure* So that means this baby will be the future Queen... I'm asking just to make sure cos in Spain women can't inherit the throne, though there's big talk about changing the Salic law now that the Prince is getting married and all.

They finally announced her name

Her titles are Prinses der Nederlanden, Prinses van Oranje-Nassau
Her name is Catharina-Amalia Beatrix Carmen Victoria
She will be called Amalia when they call her to come inside for dinner

We've had queens for a long time, no kings
Prince Willem Alexander will be king when his mom steps down or dies.
Then after him, we'll have a queen again.

The man who marries the queen will be a prince, but not king.
The woman who marries the king will be queen.
