Dodgers?

Wait a minute... you cheer for the Cowboys and Lakers.  Shouldn't you also be a Yankees fan to complete the bandwagon-tet?
:

You seem to be confusing classic teams with a tradition of success (and I would consider BOTH the Dodgers and Yankees as teams like this) as ''bandwagon.''  If you call a team that has been around 100+ years ''bandwagon'' what do you call an expansion team that wins 2 World Series in 6 years?

And would you call it ''bandwagon'' to be a Yankee hater?

You fail to understand what a bandwagon team is.

A  bandwagon team is one that you cheer for SIMPLY because they win and/or and it is cool to cheer for them.

See, you should cheer for a team for a real reason.  1) You grew up cheering for them because of your family 2) You grew up near where they play 3) You live NOW where they play 4) You are somehow associated with the team via a job or friend 5) Your favorite college player is there now 6) You graduated from that college etc etc etc.

I admit to being a Lakers fan.  Which is very bandwagon of me.  But I also can claim I jumped on the Lakers bandwagon in the 80's because I grew up a huge Magic Johnson fan.  Which means I have been grandfathered into being a real fan now.

The MASTER bandwagon teams are the Lakers, Yankees and Cowboys.  If at any time a single person cheers for all three of those teams they must IMMEDIATLY be killed by any person around them who actually likes sports.  Liking 2 of the three is still grounds for dismissal from all sports related discussions.

edit@ Jaded Rogue -    If you don't like sports, get out of this thread, Troll.

Ok, lets set the record straight...I've been a Lakers fan since I was in elementary school.  Always watched every game.  You could call it a family thing, but it mostly had to do with school.  When your teacher fails you based on the loss of the Lakers, you tend to root for the team, you know?

As for the Cowboys, they were never that good anyways, they just happened to get a good coach and a few good players and are finally doing well.

And the Dodgers...I mean come on...I'm in LA!!!  How can someone in LA not like the Dodgers?? They kick!  I hope they continue to play well.  Plus you can't beat the ticket price of a game for them....It's crazy!!
I'm Katy....I wanted to put that here so people wouldn't have to ask =)  Choco for life! lol

Holy shit.  That's the silliest thing I have ever heard someone say.  Have you ever heard of TROY AIKMAN?  EMMIT SMITH?  MICHAEL IRVIN? SUperbowl champs in '93, '94 AND '96?  The only reason they lost in '95 was running into a little team known as the SF 49'ers who had a few good players named Jerry Rice and Steve Young.

The cowboys of the 90's were on of the three biggest football dynastys in history.  They are called America's team for a reason.

Trying to say "they were never that good" is like insiting that Lance Armstrong is overrated or some such nonsense.

Lakers are forgiveable.  You live there.

Tennis and horse riding

Football (the proper football, not the yank rugby imitation   ) is overrated. It's basically the only sport people worship in my country and I'm fed up of it.

there's only four seasons
and this one's almost gone
these nights feel so good
but this one's almost gone
